The compendium, a handbook for graphic designers, is the focus of a collaborative project by Tim Müller and myself. Currently, we are developing the design and layout of the book, which is still a work in progress.
The concept takes the form of a Survival Guide for designers, filled with practical tools such as templates for shapes, stroke weights, and even a 1:1 scale ruler. We are also creating personal pages that feature tips, shortcuts, and insights from our class as well as advice from instructors. All textual content has been written by our peers and enriched by contributions from guest presentations, while small, illustrative elements add a playful and layered visual dimension to the pages. The book follows a structured CMYK color system, with each chapter assigned a distinct color that alternates throughout the guide. This approach allows us to unify the diverse content—from practical tools to personal advice—within a cohesive and visually engaging framework.
